On Friday, Rapido, the motorcycle taxi service aggregator, launched its operations in Mumbai. Seeing a potential for a rapid ramp-up as people seek an inexpensive alternative to crowded public transport during the pandemic.
“Rapido now has its operations spread across all metro cities in the nation with the Mumbai entry,” said Aravind Sanka, the company’s co-founder. The business starts with 2000 rider partners in Mumbai. Aims to scale up to 200,000 riders in the next two years.
Rapido, which began its geographical expansion approximately 18 months ago, has achieved break-even in all cities where it has been present for more than a year and in the next 18 months, the business sees profitability, Sanka added.
