Google Pixel November update rolled out

Google has rolled out the November Android security patch for Pixel smartphones. This security update, as usual, comes with several bug fixes and improvements. Google Pixel phones after the Pixel 2 series received this new update.

The Android November security update is available for these Pixel smartphones – Pixel 3/ XL, Pixel 3a/ XL, Pixel 4/ XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5. Google released the changelog for bug fixes on the November Android security patch addresses for the Pixel phones. The most common bug affects all the compatible Pixel phones, and it has to do with playlist removal in YouTube Music. The update consists of some bugs that affect only certain Pixel phones. A bug that prevented phone calls in Android Auto mode has now been fixed in Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 devices.

Google has also fixed bugs that caused incorrect audio routing in Android Auto mode, and media stutter during playback for Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4a. Another common bug was that it prevented the ringer audio for starred contacts in DND mode. Also, has been fixed with the latest security update. Beyond that, Google Messages SMS Categories Feature will now be Rolled Out to More Users.

Pixel 4 XL units which showed a dark screen during phone calls should work fine now with the new update. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a XL smartphones have also received improvements for screenshot access on devices with 2-button navigation. Google has also fixed inconsistent touch sound on the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5, and improvements for touch response with screen protectors on the Pixel 4a.
