LG is experimenting new smartphone form factor since we have seen the LG Wing. This time LG is planning to bring a rolling screen smartphone that may be called LG Rollable, according to LetsGoDigital a Dutch tech blog.
An application was filed by a German intermediary named Mitscherlich, for the smartphone with other similar names, including LG the Roll, LG Double Roll, LG Dual Roll, LG Bi-Roll, and LG Roll Canvas. It not quite sure if LG will stick with ‘Rollable’, as it just sounds the best, however, the LG Canvas doesn’t sound bad, either.
The application also mentions this smartphone, which may even support a stylus. Do keep in mind that the images in this post are not leaked renders, but designed based on what the phone could look like, just so you can get an idea of the smartphone to expect.
This is LG’s second smartphone under LG’s experimental “Explorer Project”. The first LG Wing that sports a dual-screen smartphone with a rotatable main display.
As per reports from LG, the rollable smartphone is called Project B and is probably scheduled to be launched in June 2021. In the same report, LG also stated that developing a rolling screen phone is much more complicated than a foldable phone.
