Google facing another investigation: This time in India

The motto of ‘Do the right thing’ is not going according to plan for tech giant Goggle. They are facing yet another investigation from The Competition Commission of India (CCI) for allegedly requiring the app makers to use Google Pay to buy apps and make in-app payments in the Play Store. Also, NPCI new rule may change UPI Payments including Google Pay.

The Commission stated, “The Commission is of the prima facie view that said the conduct of Google amounts to imposition of unfair and discriminatory condition, denial of market access for competing apps of Google Pay and leveraging on the part of Google, in terms of different provisions of Section 4(2) of the Act.”

The Commission has directed a 60-day investigation on the matter. Google denied all the allegations and stated it’s not exploiting a dominant position in the market to take undue advantage of their services.
