Apple added a new collection to its existing Mac dynasty with the launch of Mac Mini featuring with Apple M1 chip at their ‘One More Thing’ event. The company also announced its first Arm-based MacBook Pro 13 inch with M1 Chip.
The super-fast Apple M1 chip enables 3 times faster CPU performance, and up to 6 times better graphics than the previous generation Mac Mini. Apple claims Mac Mini to be 60 times more energy-efficient and supports up to 16GB RAM with 2TB storage space. The macOS 11 Big Sur with new design, features heavily integrated with new Apple Silicon is also designed for Mac Mini.
The machine can support two external displays and a 6k display as well. Unlike the previous 2018 Intel model, the M1 supported Mac Mini only has two Thunderbolts ports inside them. Apple added a neural engine to the new machine enabling fast and highly optimized machine learning workflows.
It is said to be 5 times faster than commonly sold desktops. Apple also lowered the price for the new Mac Mini starting at $699, i.e $100 less than the previous generation.
