Hindi language support has been provided to Amazon Alexa on Fire TV devices in India. With the new update, users can now ask Alexa questions in Hindi on Fire TV devices, including the Fire TV Stick. This adds to the support for the current English language on Alexa.
Amazon has also extended to Fire TV devices with Alexa Routines. This latest addition, which is available in India along with other global markets, enables users to use the Alexa integration to perform multiple actions across smart home devices.
The new experience is available for music, personality, smart home, timers and alarms, weather, news, local search, skills, among other features, to let you explore Alexa in Hindi.
In a statement, Amazon said the new experience will be accessible in a few days to all Fire TV users via an over-the-air update, and it would allow users not only to talk in Hindi with Alexa but also to receive Hindi inputs from the voice assistant.
Once the new programme is in operation, users of Fire TV in India can change their language by going to Settings > Preferences > Language to begin speaking in Hindi with Alexa. While setting up their new Amazon unit, new users can pick Hindi.
