Microsoft Teams rolls out 24-hour video/voice calling option

Microsoft Teams, Microsoft’s video conferencing feature, has now rolled out a new free all-day video and voice calling option. Microsoft aims at taking on its rivals like Zoom and Google Meet will this new feature. This feature will now enable up to 300 participants to connect and for as long as 24 hours. Earlier, Zoom also giveaway temporarily lift its 40-minute meeting limit on Thanksgiving Day.

Teams will be upgraded with a new feature that includes the potential to establish a group chat with up to 250 participants and also see up to 49 participants during a virtual conversation at the same time.

Microsoft released an official statement, said, “You will be able to meet up to 300 participants for 24 hours, until further specified, to help you stay connected in the coming months.”

In the Teams Desktop and Mobile Applications, the following features are now available in preview, with more features reported to be launched soon:

  • Start a private talk with up to 250 participants or build a group chat.
  • Connect to friends and family free of charge all day with video or audio calls.
  • Share video meeting invites with everyone; irrespective of having installed teams or not, and see up to 49 of participants in one frame in Gallery view or Together mode.
  • For any personal or organizational chat, upload and share images and videos from your devices.

Microsoft further added that “the new features have started to roll out in preview on the Teams mobile app and will soon be fully functioning in the coming weeks. To get started, download the Teams mobile app from the iOS or Android app store.”

Furthermore, these features found in the Microsoft Team apps for Android and iOS are currently in the beta stage and the stable rollout is to expected soon.
