Microsoft is reportedly launching a new and fresh ‘Windows Feature Experience Pack’ and the same is expected to be the first of its kind to bring out improvements to the Windows experience other than the major Windows 10 updates. This new feature will allow Microsoft to enhance the features and experiences built independently of the OS. This new ‘Windows Feature Experience Pack’ approach is being tested first with members of Windows Insider, until extending its reach to more platform users. Microsoft has launched the first Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 on the beta channel.
To announce the latest ‘Windows Feature Experience Pack’ system, the Redmond-based tech giant took to its blog. Much like upgrades and cumulative updates, these packs will be distributed via Windows Update to Windows Insider participants. Two new enhancements are being made with the first Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 update. Insider members will have the ability to use Windows’ built-in screen snipping feature.
To create a snapshot of your screen, you can press WIN+SHIFT+S and paste it straight into a folder of your preference in File Explorer to save the snapshot. The other change is that the touch keyboard also will enable divided keyboard mode in portrait mode on a 2-in-1 touch computer.
Users can go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update for qualifying users and search for upgrades. Microsoft says that it would be mandatory for Insider participants in the beta channel to have Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.662 built to access this update.
