In this era of a pandemic, many rules and regulations have been circulated by government bodies to put some regulations on the small businesses operating hours. As a result in many places, whether hours have changed or dining options are restricted. And keeping up with these changes can be difficult. Regarding this Google Maps has added a community feed feature in the Explore tab to help people keep up with the latest news about their local businesses.
According to a Blog Post from Google, the new community feed feature will show the users latest photos, posts and reviews added to Google Maps and these updates will be done by local experts and people you follow as well as food and drink merchants.
Google has recorded that it receives more than 20 million reviews, rating, photos, updates and other contributions every day. So, to make it more helpful for small businesses it has now added the verified business message feature through which customer can directly message the shop and get details what they want to know. This will help more people to see if a local business is offering a new service, has a limited time speciality or opened outdoor seating.
Community Feed is more like Facebook, it shows the user posts for which the user has shown interest in and also users can like the post in the community tab. These features were earlier spotted in the beta version of Google Maps but now started appearing as part of a server-side update.
