The e-commerce customer support platform, Gorgias today announced that it has raised $25 million in Series B following the company’s 200% annual growth in 2020. Funding Round which is led by Sapphire Ventures with the participation of SaaStr, Alven, Amplify Partners, CRV and Greycroft, brings Gorgias fundraising to over $40 million, and its valuation to over $300 million.
Georges is one of the leading customer service applications that helps online merchants respond more efficiently to customer inquiries by centralizing interactions and insights by automating responses to frequently asked questions and by making support agents more efficient. Gorgias states that it now supports over 4,500 stores, including Steve Madden, Timbuk2, Fjällräven, Marine Layer, Ellana, Electrolux and Sergio Tacchini. It helps over a million end customers across the globe each week.
CEO Romain Lapeyre said the money will allow Gorgias to continue hiring (it has grown from a team of 30 people to more than 100 people this year), especially on the engineering side, where it can develop even more automation for the platform. “As consumers increasingly shop online, the Gorgias platform powers a new breed of customer support for high-growth e-commerce brands,” said Sapphire Ventures Managing Director Rajeev Dham in a statement.
