Apple reportedly testing with in-display Touch ID for the upcoming iPhones

Apple seems to take a step back as it has been reportedly testing with in-display Touch ID for the upcoming iPhones models. As the Cupertino Gaint may use in-display optical fingerprint scanner and is expected that the technology will be seen in the “iPhone 13.”

According to several reports, published online anonymous Apple employees have confirmed that a new optical Touch ID may be featured alongside the existing facial recognition system called Face ID. Adding to it they said that an optical scanner could be more reliable than the existing ultrasonic sensors found on Samsung Devices. Apparently, Apple will only adopt the optical recognition of users fingerprint unless it proved to be as secure as the current Touch ID.

As most of us are using Face Mask in this pandemic situation it is quite difficult to relay on the FaceId and Apple seems to understand the importance of Touch Id. Meanwhile, on iPad Air 4, the company shifted the fingerprint sensor from the screen to the power button on the side. Also, the latest Apple iPhone SE also features the old school Touch Id found on iPhone 8 lineup and is also available on MacBook devices.
