Yet another Google product life comes to an end. Yes, Google is ending the support for its phone-based VR platform with Android 11. This means that from now on Daydream will not receive new updates from Google.

According to a user on Reddit that “Google has shut down most of the servers. The play store won’t even work anymore. While the discover page of the app gives an error message saying “We are sorry, we encountered a problem.” As few users claimed about 3 days ago google shut down most of the servers for a daydream, including the play store.

Meanwhile, users can install other VR applications, like YouTube VR, directly from the Play Store. Although Google’s guidance last year quoted that “many of the third-party apps and experiences within Daydream may still be available as standalone apps,” using a compatible viewer and controller, together with the Daydream View headset.
