Mihup - An Conversational AI platform raises $1.5M in Series A round

With the help of recent funds, the Kolkata-based technology startup proposes to increase its company's size, build its product capabilities farther, and explore more different markets.

Mihup Communications Pvt Ltd, a Kolkata based conversational AI platform, has raised around $1.5 million in an ongoing Series A round. The Series of funding is led by Accel Partners, Ideaspring Capital, venture investors Rajesh Jain (Founder of Netcore), and Jayant Kadambi (Founder and CEO YuMe Networks). The technology startup had secured $1.7 million in a similar round, the previous year.

In a media announcement, the firm stated that the recent funds will be used to develop the Mihup team, to establish new product capabilities, and to enter new businesses.  Prior to this round, the startup had acquired Seed funding and Pre-Series A funding from Accel Partners and Ideaspring Capital. Accel has earlier funded in companies like Flipkart, Freshworks, Myntra, Musigma, CureFit, Spotify, Facebook, and Dropbox, amongst others.

Established in 2016 by Tapan Barman, Sandipan Chattopadhyay, and Biplab Chakraborty, Mihup declares that its interaction analytics solution provides 100% report of a call centre’s customer communications to obtain actionable insights to enhance sales, collection and consumer services. This is an enterprise-ready program for both cloud or on-prem deployments. 

The brand is using AI to enable humans with the ability to communicate with the digital environment around them. It is constructed on top of a fashionable platform (speech to text engine, Natural language processor, Dialogue Manager, Text to speech) that leads to precision in mixed languages.

Mihup has prepared over 100 million customer intercommunication and is entrusted by Fortune 500 companies. Subrata Mitra, Partner at Accel, declared that Mihup's voice platform can be a game-changer in discussing the next several 100 million. 

“Voice as a medium is seeing an increasing demand in not only consumer applications but in enterprise applications as well. Advancement in voice recognition and translation technology and the advent of language-agnostic internet will drive this trend,” added Naganand Doraswamy, Managing Director and Founder, Ideaspring Capital.
