Redmi Note 9 Pro has started receiving updates to Android 11 in India. The latest update is restricted to select users initially, but in the coming days, it can hit all Redmi Note 9 Pro users. In March, alongside the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Originally, the smartphone came with MIUI 11, based on Android 10. In September, however, it received an update to MIUI 12. A list of updates, including a revamped interface, came with the update. Xiaomi reported that the Android 11 update was initially rolled out to a few users for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. It is likely, however, to hit all users in the coming days.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro received a firmware version of MIUI V18.104.22.168.QJWINXM in September prior to the new update. MIUI 12 was brought with that update, but it was based on Android 10.
The latest update brings the Android 11 operating system that Google released earlier this year to the Redmi Note 9 Pro. It doesn't seem to bring a new Android security patch, however.
At a starting price of Rs. 13,999, Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. There are three different configurations for the phone: 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 4GB + 128GB.
